Getting to the Root of Your Problem By Searching For the Cause

At Select Health of the Twin Cities, we are a comprehensive pain and regenerative care center that focuses on correcting the root cause of your pain rather than offering a Band-aid that temporarily relieves symptoms. Some physical causes of pain and discomfort cannot be seen on medical imaging, but using a variety of diagnostic testing — including labwork — we can get a full 360° view or the source of your pain.

Blood Work

There are a variety of conditions that can be identified by interpreting basic blood work results. Hormone changes, vitamin and protein deficiencies, thyroid problems, and excess cortisol (the stress hormone) can leave you feeling fatigued, achy, and moody. One, or a combination of, these imbalances can directly or indirectly be contributing to your chronic pain. Once identified, we can formulate a well-balanced treatment plan that targets the actual cause of your pain.

An immune panel is particularly useful in identifying sources of pain that are a direct response to infections or your body attacking its own tissues. Immune panels can identify immune deficiency issues such as a lack of antibodies that leave you susceptible to recurring or chronic infection. Immune panels can also identify autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, and multiple sclerosis.

Food Allergy Testing

Food sensitivities can develop over a lifetime and manifest differently in different people. Food sensitivities such as gluten, lactose, soy, or yeast don’t usually result in the classic “allergic” symptoms the way nuts or shellfish do. Rather these food sensitivities can leave you bloated, uncomfortable, fatigued, and cause painful inflammation. Once you identify any food allergies or sensitivities, you can better manage symptoms by avoiding trigger foods.

Gut Ecology Profiling

The status of your gut and its natural flora can reveal a lot about your health and stress levels. A gut ecology profile will help us identify any underlying infections in your GI tract that can contribute to chronic inflammation and pain.

At Select Health of the Twin Cities, we take a multi-front approach to identifying and treating your chronic pain. For a team of medical providers that will leave no option unexplored to help you live a more comfortable life, contact Drs. Antoine and Piper at Select Health of the Twin Cities.
